FRP Crossflow Cooling TowersThe major principle of mechanical draft cross flow uses fan drive for ventilation, so the air velocities can be higher. The water is gravitating through the filling and air is crossing the filling and water horizontally. For same water distribution area and horsepower, a cross flow design usually provides a low air resistance thus enabling the tower to pass more air than counter flow design. The tower casing has been manufactured form fiberglass reinforced plastic which is highly corrosion resistance to give sufficient structural strength, to with stand high wind velocity and vibration. Casing is fabricated in segments duly matched at works and aerodynamic contours are achieved for best fan performance. Rakshan Equipment's square cross flow cooling tower with a rectangular body, which requires small area and is having a neat appearance. Cooling tower with larger cooling capacity can be connected as multi-cell installations. Since our cooling tower design is modularized, it can be maintained during running condition without affecting its normal operation. Also it is more convenient and easier to clean filling. Cross Flow series is applying gravity type distribution system so that uniform water distribution and large clearance can be rendered and is not easy to clog and grow scale. Also, gravitating to distribute the water can bring about low noise, uniform distribution, low pressure, longer duration of water passing through the filling and best heat exchange effect. The effect of Crossflow [System's functions]
- Using the cross flow principle, warm water flowing down through a cooling unit is cooled by air drawn upwards by a fan.
- Evaporation and direct heat exchange cause the temperature to fall rapidly. Compared to counter flow cooling towers, induced draught cross flow cooling towers are much quieter and smaller.
- The performance figures are next to perfect.
